Quick verdict: Worth it, with reasonable expectations.
We attended the Island Breeze Lū‘au during our Hawaii trip. Our overall impression was positive: the dinner was good, the show was enjoyable and it made for a fun evening.
What stood out
This was not an experience where I came away with a long list of complaints or warnings. The value was in getting dinner and entertainment together as part of the trip.
Who it makes sense for
I think a luau is most appealing for travelers who want an organized evening activity rather than another night of finding dinner and entertainment separately.
Worth It Scout verdict
Worth it, with reasonable expectations. We enjoyed ourselves and came away with a positive impression of the dinner and show.
My original takeaway
Show and dinner were good. Fun and enjoyable.
