Quick verdict: Skip it based on my experience.
I tried Vacations To Go because I had heard positive things about its cruise pricing and customer service.
After booking, however, I found another offer through United Cruises that included gratuities and slightly more onboard credit. That was where my experience changed.
The price-match issue
I contacted Vacations To Go and asked whether they could match the competing offer. The agent I spoke with was polite, but I did not feel there was much willingness to work with the difference in value. I also contacted corporate and came away with the same impression.
My concern was not simply finding a lower advertised fare. The competing booking had additional value because gratuities were included.
What I learned
When comparing cruise agencies, do not compare only the headline cruise fare. I now look closely at gratuities, onboard credit, dining offers, cancellation terms and other included extras.
A slightly higher or lower fare can be misleading if one agency includes several hundred dollars of additional value.
Worth It Scout verdict
Skip it based on my experience. I would compare other booking sources before using Vacations To Go again.
